West Ham United Women were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Chelsea in the Women's Super League on Sunday. The result, which follows a win over Southampton, leaves the Hammers with a record of two wins, one draw and two defeats from their last five league games.

Chelsea's dominance was reflected in the statistics, with the visitors enjoying 66% possession and firing 21 shots. West Ham, in stark contrast, failed to register a single shot on target throughout the 90 minutes. The home side's resistance was broken just before half-time when Melvine Malard found the net in the 38th minute.

The second half saw Chelsea tighten their grip. Keira Walsh doubled the lead in the 80th minute, assisted by Wieke Kaptein, who had been shown a yellow card for dissent earlier in the match. Maika Hamano added a third for the champions just three minutes from time to seal a convincing victory.

Head coach R. Skinner made four changes from the bench, introducing Leila Wandeler, Ylinn Tennebo and Yu Endo in the second half. Top scorer Viviane Asseyi, who has three goals this season, started but was unable to influence the game against a disciplined Chelsea defence marshalled by manager Sonia Bompastor.

West Ham will look to bounce back in their next fixture, an away trip to face Crystal Palace on 18 October.

The club confirmed the details of Chelsea's third goal on Tuesday. Maika Hamano headed in a late third in the 87th minute after a saved effort from Alyssa Thompson. Manager Sonia Bompastor's side remained unbeaten with the win. West Ham's recent form stands at 2W-1D-2L from their last five. They face Crystal Palace next.
