West Ham United Women will play Manchester United in the Barclays Women's Super League this Sunday, 27 September, at Leigh Sports Village. The match is set for a 1pm BST kick-off and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports +.

The stadium, known as Progress With Unity Stadium, is located roughly halfway between Manchester and Liverpool. For travelling supporters, the nearest train stations are Atherton, Newton-le-Willows, and Wigan North Western. Leigh bus station is a ten-minute walk away, and there are 1,000 onsite parking spaces, including bays for blue-badge holders. Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for over-66s and under-16s, though they are not available for purchase online.

West Ham head north looking to bounce back from a 1-0 league defeat to Everton in their last outing. Their recent form shows just one win in their last five matches, a sequence that reads loss, draw, win, loss, loss.

Manchester United, under new head coach Eva Olid, are also seeking consistency. They opened the season with a loss to London City Lionesses and were thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea at home, but fought back to draw 1-1 with Arsenal last time out thanks to a stoppage-time Smilla Holmberg equaliser. The reverse fixture last season ended in a 2-1 win for United.

Historically, this fixture has been a tough one for West Ham, with their only WSL-era victory coming in December 2019. The two sides last met in March, playing out a goalless draw at Victoria Road.

After this trip, West Ham's attention turns to a home fixture against Southampton on Wednesday, 30 September. Check the full schedule on our fixtures page.
