West Ham Women have announced that five players will be leaving the club when their current contracts expire at the end of the month. The departing players are Shelina Zadorsky, Verena Hanshaw, Camila Sáez, Soraya Walsh, and Emily Taylor-Brown. Canadian international defender Zadorsky has been a key player for West Ham Women over the last two-and-a-half seasons, making 50 appearances for the club in all competitions. Austrian full-back Hanshaw has spent 18 months with the club, making 33 appearances, while Sáez was a summer 2024 arrival and has appeared 14 times for the club. Midfielder Walsh joined West Ham Women from Charlton Athletic at the start of the 2022/2023 season and has impressed whilst gaining senior experience in loan spells with Billericay Town, Watford, and Hashtag United. Taylor-Brown has developed within the West Ham Women Professional Game Academy side and will hope to now get the opportunity for regular senior minutes in the game with a new club. The departures come as West Ham Women prepare for a new season in the Women's Super League, with the club looking to build on their recent performances. Experienced midfielder Katrina Gorry is also leaving the club, with her departure having already been announced, while star striker Shekiera Martinez has agreed a deal to join West Ham Women's Barclays Women's Super League rivals Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer. The club will be looking to replace the departing players and strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. West Ham Women's manager will be working to bring in new signings and prepare the team for the challenges ahead. The Women's Super League is set to be highly competitive once again, with West Ham Women facing tough matches against rivals such as Tottenham Hotspur and other top teams.
